Madina city is the second holiest city in Islam and this city has been attracting millions of Muslims from many years. Madina includes among the most visited city in the world. Prophet (PBUH) settled in madina after migrating from Mecca, for this reason the city gained special respect and importance. Below are some most famous sites of madina.

 * Masjid-e-Quba:

This mosque is the oldest mosque in the history of Islam. Our beloved Prophet (PBUH) himself laid down the foundation of this mosque when He stayed in madina after migration. This mosque is also known as Masjid-al-Taqwa.

* Masjid-e-Nabvi:

               Masjid-e-Nabwi is the second most sacred masjid or mosque in Islam and it is also the second largest mosque in the world, the first is Masjid-al-Haram in Mecca. Masjide-e-Nabwi was established by the Prophet (PBUH) after his migration to Madina.

* Masjid-e-Jummah:

This mosque is located in Madina, Holy Prophet (PBUH) offered the Jummah Namaz in this place after his hijratWhen Prophet (PBUH) reached the location of tribe Bano-Salam-Bin-Auf on his way to Madina, the time for Jummah namaz came, the first Jummah namaz were offered at this place, and for this reason a masjid was built at the same spot.

* Masjid-e-Qiblatain:

         One of the famous mosques to visit in madina is the Masjid-e-Qiblatain. Its historical importance is that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) received revelation during the prayer to change the direction of Qibla from Jerusalem to Masjid Al Haram in Mecca. Hence the name Masjide Qiblatain (mosque of the two Qiblas) came into origin.

 * Janna-tul-Baqi:

Jannatul Baqi, it is also known as Garden of Heaven it’s the main graveyard of Madina. In this graveyard there are many family members of Prophet (PBUH) are buried and also around ten thousand companions of Prophet (PBUH) and many pious and prominent personalities are buried.

* Masjid-e-Ghamama: 

Majid-e-Ghamama is located at walking distance from Masjid-e-Nabvi, in this mosque Prophet (PBUH) prayed for rain. This masjid is built on the place where our beloved Prophet (PBUH) performed Namaz-e-Eid, that’s why this masjid is also known as Masjid-e-Eid. Government of Saudi Arabia has made beautiful wall of pink colour around the mosque, wall is very well decorated with hanging electric lanterns with tree planks of date.

* Uhad Mountain and Batlle site: 

         Uhad Mountain, in front of this in 3 AH, second battle in Islam (the Battle of Uhud) held. The Prophet (PBUH) declared,

“This mountain loves us and we love it.” [Sahi Al-Muslim].

The grave of all the martyrs are inside the cemented walled boundary and the people can only see the graves from windows in the walls. Mount of Uhad is little developed now and there are many houses build in the surrounding area of battlefield.
